I love photographing families in the comfort of their own home or right in their own backyard which can be especially convenient with small children and provides the opportunity to capture some pretty special moments in your own surroundings. Or feel free to choose a favorite location or ask me for suggestions based on your preference of scenery. Some of my favorite locations include nature trails, fields of tall grass, and historic buidings. Maybe even plan a picnic, go for a walk or a bike ride, bake some cookies, read books, play in the dirt, run through sprinklers, roast marshmallows, or go fishing. It is always my goal to capture genuine moments and emotion though some images will include family members more strategically placed, I certainly prefer to avoid over-posing. I love to keep my sessions light-hearted. I do not expect children to sit still and "cooperate" and I certainly don't want there to be any frustration - I really feel that it is so important to capture their unique little personalities to help you remember because they change so quickly...And I always have a few tricks up my sleeve. :)
